La Asamblea Nacional búlgara aprobó en primera lectura un proyecto de ley que prohíbe la financiación extranjera de organizaciones profesionales de jueces, fiscales e investigadores. La propuesta fue aprobada sin debate con 116 votos a favor, 6 en contra y 52 abstenciones. Los diputados de la coalición gobernante expresaron su alta estima por el primer ministro húngaro Viktor Orbán y por sus políticas, que inspiraron este proyecto de ley.
ONG y organizaciones de jueces, abogados y fiscales, expresaron su fuerte desaprobación. La Comisión Europea está monitoreando la situación.
