En 2014 en Alemania hubo oficialmente 199 ataques contra los refugiados. Estos incluyen odio, daños delictivos y agresiones. En una investigación conjunta, periodistas de CORRECTIV y Spiegel Online han revisado 157 casos y han ilustrado los resultados en gráficos: solo se identificaron a los sospechosos en 50 casos y de estos 50, solo 15 conllevaron una condena, los otros se archivaron. En 107 casos no hay sospechosos. De las 199 agresiones, 172 se han considerado oficalmente motivadas políticamente. El número de agresiones ha crecido alarmantemente en 2015.
