La Comisión Europea inició recientemente una investigación sobre el rechazo de Lituania a emitir dos videos sobre personas LGTB, con el pretexto de proteger los intereses de los menores. Según la Liga Gay Lituana (LGL), la prohibición viola la Directiva de Servicios de Medios Audiovisuales, que aunque señala la obligación de proteger a los menores de información perjudicial, prevee que dichas medidas deben respetar igualmente la libertad de expresión. La LGL señala que estos videos pretendían rebatir los estereotipos prevalentes sobre personas LGTB, por lo que la prohibición es ilegítima.
