El control de medios independiente Carta di Roma ha denunciado los excesos de la prensa italiana, esto es, el uso de un lenguaje inapropiado, racista y generalizador, después de los ataques terroristas de Bruselas. De hecho, Libero e Il Giornale publicaron titulares agresivos como "Bastardos islámicos" y "Expulsemos al islam de nuestra casa". Estos comentarios ofensivos violan el marco ético del periodismo y, sobre todo, promueven el odio y su expresión en la sociedad. Los trágicos atentados recientes no deben llevarnos de ningún modo a asociaciones erróneas y atajos peligrosos.
