Quince ONG húngaras han pedido recientemente a la comisión correspondiente que rechace la lista de candidatos húngaros al Tribunal de Estrasburgo, pues el proceso de selección establecido por el gobierno ha sido injusto, inconsistente y en absoluto transparente. Por ello, quieren que el comité advierta a la Asamblea Parlamentaria del Consejo de Europa, para que rechace la lista. Debido a la presión de las ONG, el gobierno húngaro finalmente retiró a tres candidatos que ya habían designado como jueces para el Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos y han abierto una nueva convocatoria.
