La Cruz Roja y VluchtelingenWerk Países Bajos (Consejo Neerlandés para los Refugiados) han anunciado que más de 47.000 personas se han ofrecido como voluntarias con estas organizaciones desde el verano. El número de solicitudes de asilo registradas hasta final de octubre también es de 47.000. Es decir, en los últimos tres meses, ha aparecido por lo menos un voluntario por cada refugiado. Entre los voluntarios hay un gran porcentaje de gente joven y de padres y madres con hijos pequeños, según el Consejo. Están afectados y deseando ayudar.
