Dinamarca podría desobedecer a la Comisión Europea sobre el fin de los controles fronterizos si es necesario, indicó su primer ministro, Lars Loekke Rasmussen. La medida marca un nuevo frente en la rebelión de algunos Estados miembros sobre la política migratoria. Su advertencia llega tras el anuncio de la Comisión el 2 de mayo de que Austria, Dinamarca, Alemania, Noruega y Suecia -todos miembros Schengen- podrían prorrogar los controles fronterizos solo 6 meses más. Rasmussen dijo que la cantidad de gente que viene de África a Europa era "demasiado alta" para reabrir las fronteras.
