El Tribunal de Justicia de la UE emitió una esperadísima sentencia que establece que las direcciones IP dinámicas personales (Protocolo de Internet) son datos personales bajo la legislación de la UE y no pueden almacenarse a menos que sea para frustrar ataques cibernéticos o similares. La sentencia clarifica por fin una cuestión importante y pendiente desde hace tiempo de la Ley de protección de datos. Un político alemán interpuso un recurso sobre las webs operadas por el Estado alemán que almacenan datos personales y direcciones IP en los archivos de registro durante 2 semanas.
