Adriano Sofri has decided not to take part in reforming Italy's prisons.

Le ministre de la Justice italien Andrea Orlando avait récemment nommé Adriano Sofri comme expert pour aider à réformer les prisons de l'Italie. En 1990, Sofri a été trouvé coupable d'avoir ordonné en 1972 l’assassinat de l’agent de police Luigi Calabresi et a été condamné à 22 ans de prison. Il a toujours clamé son innocence. Sofri est un journaliste très connu, un intellectuel et l'auteur de nombreux livres, dont certains sur les prisons. La décision du ministre Orlando a été fortement attaquée et Sofri a décidé de renoncer à cette fonction.
