8. czerwca włoski parlament wreszcie przyjął projekt ustawy penalizującej zaprzeczanie istnieniu Holocaustu. Jest to przepis będący częścią ustawy antyrasistowskiej, która przewiduje kary za nawoływanie do nienawiści rasowej i zbrodni przeciwko ludzkości. Za zaprzeczanie istnieniu Holocaustu można trafić do więzienia na okres 2-6 lat. Spośród pozostałych członków UE, zaprzeczanie istnieniu Holocaustu jest przestępwstem we Francji, Niemczech i Belgii.
