‘Sapfo Fest’ is the Baltic region's first independent community-initiated festival that seeks to increase visibility of LBTQI individuals. Against the background of deeply rooted homophobic attitudes and heavy restrictions on freedom of expression, the festival offers a diverse educational program - from Soviet mental institutions for lesbians to today‘s LBTQI rights – aiming to create a learning, sharing, and appreciative space for everybody.
In 2014, the festival in Lithuania will welcome around 300 members of the LBTQI community and friends. To support the event click here.
