At the beginning of June, the Estonian Diversity Charter widened when 10 innovative and socially responsible companies and organisations signed up. The new partners are ADM Interactive, Emergency Response Centre (Häirekeskus), NUKU Theatre, Erply, Wolt, Nordea, Omniva, Brightway, La Muu and Thorgate.
Some of these enterprises, like innovative and successful tech-startups Wolt and Erply, are international operations that recruit most of their staff from diverse cultural groups, nationalities and religions. In others like Omniva (the former Estonian Post Office) and Emergency Response Centre, diversity is reflected in the inclusion of different nationalities and people with disabilities, as well as in the organisational culture and flexibility in general.
The Diversity Charter is a voluntary agreement, which confirms that the companies and organisations that are signatories to it will honour people’s diversity and value the principle of equal treatment among their employees, clients and partners. In Estonia, more than a 100 organisations have joined the agreement to date. Together with the organisations and enterprises belonging to the charter, the Diversity Day is celebrated every year.
