Pierre Vandersmissen, che ha dovuto passare la notte in ospedale, stava usando spray al peperoncino sui manifestanti quando ha perso conoscenza. Vandersmissen è una figura controversa e c'è una pagina Facebook che chiede la sua rimozione da quando ha ordinato l'arresto dei manifestanti anti-razzisti, compreso il presidente della Lega Belga per i Diritti Umani, Alexis Deswaef.
