Il più alto tribunale amministrativo tedesco ha stabilito che una persona gravemente ammalata può coltivare cannabis se necessario per ragioni mediche e finché altre opzioni terapeutiche ugualmente efficaci ed economicamente accessibili non siano disponibili. Il ricorrente 52enne è affetto da sclerosi multipla e non può acquistare prodotti a base di cannabis in farmacia. Il tribunale ha deciso che le autorità devono fornirgli un certificato di esenzione ai sensi della Legge sui Narcotici. In questo modo, non commetterà un reato coltivando cannabis a casa.
