A man from the Dutch city of Kampen called King Willem-Alexander a murderer, rapist and a thief on his Facebook page. In addition to this, he posted an edited picture of a forthcoming execution where the head of one of the victims was replaced with that of the king. On July 14, a Dutch court convicted the man to 30 days in jail for violating the dignity of the king. Member of Parliament Kees Verhoeven of the Democrats 66 recently introduced a bill to abolish lèse-majesté, as his party is convinced that the king should not be subjected to different treatment.
