USA zwróciło się do Holandii z prośbą o przyjęcię dwóch więźniów przetrzymywanych w obozie w Guantanamo. Prezydent Obama chce zamknąć Guantanamo, ale Kongres nie pozwoli mu uwolnić więźniów na terytorium Stanów Zjednoczonych. Holenderski ministre spraw zagranicznych, Bert Koenders, powiedział, że Holandia rozważa tę prośbę. Nie wiadomo, kim są więźniowie ani jakiej są narodowości. Przyjęcie byłych więźniów Guantanamo jest na tyle delikatną kwestią, że większość w holenderskiej Izbie Reprezentantów się temu sprzeciwia. Inne kraje europejskie już przyjęły byłych osadzonych.
