Sprawa dotyczy pracownika salonu fryzjerskiego, który został zwolniony w trakcie urlopu zdrowotnego. Według portalu Liberation, szef przypadkowo wysłał do niego wiadomość o treści: "Nie będę dłużej zatrudniał [pracownika]... Coś mi w nim nie pasuje. To pedał." Trybunał w Paryżu orzekł, że nazwanie mężczyzny fryzjera "pedałem" nie jest oznaką homofobii, ponieważ "w salonach fryzjerskich regularnie zatrudnia się homoseksualistów i nie wywołuje to żadnych problemów." Myriam el Khomri, francuska ministra pracy nazwała to orzeczenie "skandalicznym i szokującym."
