I cechi classificano i rom come l'etnia peggiore, è quanto emerge da un'indagine sulle opinioni in merito ad alcune nazionalità e gruppi etnici realizzata dall'Istituto di Sociologia dell'Accademia delle Scienze Ceca. Oltre il 75% degli intervistati considera i rom immorali, l'85% li considera pigri e oltre i quattro quinti pensa che violino la legge. Ma per i cechi i più violenti sono i musulmani. Secondo gli autori, queste opinioni si fondano sulla credenza condivisa da molti cechi che alcuni gruppi etnici abbiano un quoziente d'intelligenza inferiore - il 70% è convinto di questo.
