Il governo ungherese vuole restringere ulteriormente le possibilità di richiedere dati di pubblico interesse, una garanzia della responsabilità dello stato. Un recente disegno di legge intende abolire l'anonimato delle richieste e imporre una tassa su questo servizio. Le restrizioni si applicherebbero ai dati relativi alla proposta di provvedimenti e alle leggi sul copyright. Per l'Hungarian Civil Liberties Union le restrizioni sono illegittime e l'accesso ai dati di pubblico interesse è un diritto costituzionale e una precondizione per il funzionamento trasparente e democratico dello stato.
