Le autorità europee potrebbero non essere in grado di applicare appieno un nuovo regolamento sulla protezione dei dati a causa dei ritardi degli stati membri nel conformarsi. Il regolamento generale sulla protezione dei dati, una revisione del diritto UE con implicazioni di ampia portata per il trattamento dei dati personali, entrerà in vigore a maggio. Ma il mese scorso la Commissione Europea ha affermato che 26 stati membri devono ancora approvare le leggi necessarie per garantire l'applicazione corretta della legge da parte delle autorità per la protezione dei dati a livello UE.
