Durante gli scontri tra afgani ed eritrei a Calais almeno 5 migranti hanno perso la vita. 4 giovani eritrei sono stati portati in un ospedale locale in condizioni critiche per essere sottoposti ad interventi chirurgici, mentre un quinto, gravemente ferito, è stato portato a Lille. La procura locale ha dichiarato che almeno 13 persone sono rimaste ferite. Gérard Collomb, ministro degli interni francese, in visita a Calais nella notte, ha definito gli scontri eccezionalmente gravi. Il primo scontro è scoppiato nella periferia meridionale della città, dove i migranti erano in coda per il cibo.
