A ottobre in Germania entra in vigore una legge che impone pesanti multe ai social network che non cancellano i contenuti che includono discorsi di odio. La legge, denominata Netzwerkdurchsetzungsgesetz, obbliga i più grandi social network - con oltre 2 milioni di utenti tedeschi - a rimuovere i discorsi di odio 'palesemente illegali' entro 24 ore dalla segnalazione. Non farlo potrebbe comportare multe fino a 50 milioni di euro. Per i critici il breve lasso di tempo, unito a multe così alte, spingerà i social network ad essere eccessivamente cauti e a cancellare grandi quantità di contenuti.
