L'Assemblea Nazionale ha approvato in prima lettura un disegno di legge che vieta i finanziamenti esterni alle organizzazioni professionali di giudici, procuratori e inquirenti. La proposta è stata approvata senza dibattito, con 116 voti a favore, 6 contrari e 52 astenuti. I parlamentari della maggioranza hanno espresso grande rispetto verso le politiche del Primo Ministro ungherese Viktor Orban, che hanno ispirato questo disegno di legge.
Varie ONG e organizzazioni di giudici, avvocati e procuratori hanno espresso forte contrarietà. Anche la Commissione Europea sta monitorando la situazione.
