Un tribunale di appello austriaco ha ordinato a Facebook di rimuovere i post che contengono discorsi di odio. In seguito alle offese diffamatorie alla sua leader, Eva Glawischni, postati su un account fake di Facebook, il Partito dei Verdi austriaco ha presentato un ricorso per far rimuovere i contenuti. Ad aprile la Germania ha approvato un piano per multare i gestori di social network fino a 50 milioni di euro se non rimuovono tali post in maniera rapida e le regole europee sono al momento sotto il vaglio dell'Unione Europea.
