Il primo ministro polacco Beata Szydlo ha annunciato un piano per centralizzare i finanziamenti statali alla società civile e "fare ordine nel mondo delle ONG". La mossa ha fatto irritare le associazioni per i diritti umani, secondo le quali questo consentirebbe ai ministri di fare pressioni sulle ONG critiche verso il governo. "I soldi pubblici sono la prima fonte di finanziamento per molte ONG, per cui il governo eserciterebbe pressioni finanziarie su di loro per raggiungere i propri scopi" ha dichiarato Dorota Pudzianowska dell'Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, partner di Liberties.
