Martedì 16 settembre la Corte Costituzionale rumena ha giudicato incostituzionale la legge che richiede di identificare gli acquirenti di carte telefoniche prepagate. La Corte ha sostenuto, con voto a maggioranza, l'obiezione di incostituzionalità sollevata dall'ombudsman e ha ritenuto che la legge approvata dal Parlamento a luglio 2014 sia incostituzionale nella sua interezza.
Questo è il quarto tentativo del parlamento rumeno di imporre una legge che vorrebbe controllare e monitorare elettronicamente le comunicazioni. Tutte e quattro le leggi sono state dichiarate incostituzionali.
