El Partido Laborista neerlandés (PvdA) sostiene que las empresas deben habilitar sus instalaciones para que sean accesbles para personas con discapacidad. La reciente implementación de la Convención de la ONU sobre los derechos de las personas con discapacidad por ahora solo obliga a las empresas a adaptar sus instalaciones cuando los clientes lo pidan. Al parlamentario Otwin van Dijk, del PvdA, le parece insuficiente. No deberían ser las personas mismas las que pidan las mejoras, dice, y señala que en Reino Unido o EEUU, cuestiones como el transporte público se ha gestionado mucho mejor.
