A statement of concern over Poland's recent legislative reforms has been issued by the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum, a network of EU and Russian organizations. The statement emphasizes that amendments to the Act on the Constitutional Tribunal and the Act on Public Media were adopted in no time, without public debate or expert consultation. Essential public opinion and organizations involved in the protection of human rights were not acknowledged. The statement also condemned changes in the Act on the Police that authorize easier access to telecommunication data.
