This week the Czech government again discussed whether to accept 15 Syrian children in need of medical treatment. The first discussion, in December, didn't end well for the children: the government refused to accept them, despite the commitment of EU countries to offer a home to 100,000 Syrian refugees. Now, after pressure from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the Czech Republic has agreed to accept the children. The interior minister emphasized that families "will be selected on the basis of how successfully can they integrate into the Czech Republic, for example in terms of religion."
