A group of people dressed as Ku Klux Klan members in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, is being treated by local police as a hate incident. The local head of police, George Hamilton, told the BBC that the incident was "disgusting and distasteful". Local politician Kellie Armstrong said the picture of the people dressed as members of the white supremacist group was a "clear demonstration of aggression" and "that is a hate crime." The incident took place a few doors down from the Bangladesh Islamic Centre in Newtownards, where last year a pig’s head was left on the doorstep.
