A regional coalition of CSOs and individuals, campaigning for the creation of a commission for establishing the facts about war crimes and human rights violations committed in the former Yugoslavia from 1991 to 2001, held its seventh assembly in Belgrade on November 14. Although a vague promise of formal support exists, the states made it clear they do not want to finance the commission. It remains to be seen if the presidents of ex-Yugoslav countries will work on the initiative, as well as whether there will be political will to incorporate the established facts into educational systems.
