Classified personal information from a database reserved for members of the Schengen zone was copied illegally by the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the UK has shared the database with companies from the US and demands to maintain access after the country leave the EU. According to an internal EU document, British authorities for years violated access to the Schengen Information System including manipulation and mismanagement. The document concludes that the UK violations "constitute serious and immediate risks to the integrity and security of SIS data as well as for the data subjects."
