Women across Poland are holding protests in support of abortion rights, after the Catholic Church urged the government to outlaw the procedure. In Warsaw on Sunday, some 400 protesters gathered in front of the archbishop's home holding wire clothes hangers, a symbol of illegal abortions, and chanting, "Nothing about us without us!" and "Save the women!" The Catholic Church in Poland last week sent an appeal to the government to pass a total ban on abortions, where current law only allows one if the woman's health is threatened, or in cases of rape, incest or an incurably damaged fetus.
