Provide adequate funding to drug policy coordination and better support harm reduction efforts – these are the recommendations of the European
Commission’s Civil Society Forum on Drugs group. Organizations working
in the field call on the EC to take into consideration the needs of these
marginalized groups in the preparation of the next EU budget. They fear with the EU's growing focus on security and migration, politicians may
de-prioritize social and health programs. The latter is particularly concerning
since several countries have cut funding for harm reduction and prevention
programs.
