The recently launched Italian naval mission off the Libyan coast will not solve the "migrant crisis" but will instead jeopardize migrants, according to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. Given the current situation in the African country, sending migrants back to Libya will only expose them to abuse, torture and violence in the detention centers of a devastated country, exposing Italy to condemnation by the European Court of Human Rights, similar to that which it received years ago.
