The middle school student was raped by three boys from her school. The District Court ordered the students to pay the teenager 60,000 euros in compensation. The incident occurred in 2008, when the victim was younger than 15 years old. The Guardianship Court decided to place the juvenile perpetrators - who were also underage at that time - in a juvenile correctional facility, but suspended the measure for the trial period. In 2015, the European Court of Human Rights closed the case after the government's unilateral declaration that it was at fault for violating Articles 3, 8 and 13 of the ECHR.
