International Holocaust Remembrance Day is on January 27, and it has been 72 years since Auschwitz, the largest Nazi Concentration Camp, was successfully liberated by the Red Army. To commemorate this, Italy will host several national events. In collaboration with the Italian Senate and Associazione 21 luglio, CILD will host an event in Rome to specifically commemorate the genocide of 500,000 Roma and Sinti people during the Holocaust.
