A professional course for sexual assistants for disabled people will begin in a few weeks in Bologna. These sexual assistants will eventually assume permanent positions within the Italian welfare system. The psychologist and sexologist Roberto Quattrini, who will select the candidates, has contributed to the draft of the proposed law on the new profession recently presented to the Italian Parliament. The role of the sexual assistant will be to help people with disabilities learn how to find sexual satisfaction in a suitable way.
