W opublikowanym 18 maja sprawozdaniu przedstawiono inicjatywy podjęte przez UE w 2016 r. na rzecz wzmocnienia praw podstawowych. W raporcie zwrócono również uwagę na to w jaki sposób prawa te były stosowane w UE, na przykład w zakresie ochrony danych osobowych i poprawy praw konsumentów.
