Lo scorso anno solo lo 0.2% di chi li ha consumati ha dovuto ricorrere a trattamento medico emergenziale - un tasso almeno 5 volte più basso rispetto a MDMA, LSD e cocaina. 28,000 persone hanno dichiarato di avere assunto i funghi ad un certo punto della vita, l'81.7% in cerca di esperienze psichedeliche moderate e per migliorare le interazioni sociali.
