La Commissione Europea ha diffuso il suo rapporto annuale sull'applicazione della Carta dei Diritti Fondamentali dell'Unione Europea. Il rapporto, pubblicato il 18 maggio, descrive le iniziative avviate dall'UE nel 2016 in tema di protezione dei diritti fondamentali. Presta attenzione in particolare al modo in cui i diritti fondamentali vengono applicati, per esempio in tema di protezione dei dati personali e dei diritti dei consumatori. Il rapporto sottolinea anche le importanti azioni realizzate, come l'EU-US Privacy Shield.
