Of the over 3 billion euros given to international organizations by the Italian government and its contributors in 2015, most of it is used for agriculture and food supply by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization and World Food Program. Funds are used directly by the organization to provide food, mostly to countries at war. As a comparison, Italian NGOs received from the government 24 millions euros in 2015 (emergencies excluded).
