Over half a million citizens from across the European Union have signed the Save the Internet campaign asking for clear net neutrality guidelines to protect our freedoms and rights online. In 2015, the EU adopted legislation on net neutrality. The regulation contains good principles but also created loopholes that could undermine net neutrality. The legislators decided to leave the responsibility of clarifying the uncertainties of the text to telecom regulators – therefore, the petition was addressed to their joint European regulatory body BEREC.
